Movement Training Philosophy
We operate based on the philosophy that we should screen your movement patterns before you train them. Training poor movement patterns reinforces poor quality and creates greater risk of injury. When we identify dysfunctional movement patterns, we can correct them with exercises and recheck them against the baseline we establish.

Functional Movement Screen
The Functional Movement Screen is an innovative system that evaluates movement pattern quality for clients and athletes. This screen comprises seven fundamental movement patterns that require a balance of mobility and stability and place the individual in extreme positions where weaknesses and imbalances become noticeable.
Benefits of the FMS
- Quickly identifies movement limitations and dysfunction
- Improves efficiency, durability, and performance
- Provides an enhanced foundation for exercise and performance programming
- A consistent and reliable testing method
Training, conditioning, and rehabilitation should have
purpose, precision and progression

The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) comprises seven movement tests (uncomplicated by specific skills). The functional patterns provide observable physical performance by placing you in positions that push your movement capacity to its limit. This creates an accurate assessment of what you are physically able to do. The FMS identifies movement pattern problems: basic deficiencies in mobility and stability causing limitations and asymmetries in one or more basic movement patterns.
On the other hand, an athletic performance problem occurs when fundamental movement patterns are free of deficiencies, but flaws are noted in athletic fitness parameters and movement skills related to a specific sport.
Oftentimes, the poor technique we observe in sports is the body trying to survive a predicament it is not ready to address.
If movement is debilitated, all things built on that dysfunction might be flawed, compromised, or predisposed to risk, even if disguised by acceptable levels of skill or performance.
After the screen is complete
we work to improve your movement
Movement pattern corrective strategy is a form of exercise that focuses more on improving mobility, stability, essential motor control, and whole movement patterns than physical fitness and performance parameters.
Once established, the movement patterns create a platform for the general and specific parameters of fitness, including endurance, strength, speed, agility, power, and task specificity.
The information from your movement assessment can then be used as a starting point for targeted fitness and athletic program design for maximal results.
Once fundamental movement is managed, other factors like strength, endurance, coordination, and skill acquisition also play a role in injury prevention, but movement comes first.
